I was born in Fort Worth, Texas.  Moved to Aledo and attended school there from kindergarten through high school.  After graduating from Aledo, I attend Weatherford Jr. College and then went to work for an accounting firm.   Later I returned to school and attended Texas Wesleyan University and received my degree in Elementary Education.

My history with Lily B. Clayton goes deep.  Not only did I do my student teaching here, but my father attended Lily B. and my mother’s great aunt, Lulu Parker was the first principal here too!  Both my daughters, Kathryn and Emily attended school here.  I have been teaching kindergarten at Lily B. Clayton for 5 years and it is truly home.

I live in the neighborhood with my husband Kelly and my daughters, Kathryn – 15 and Emily – 12.  Kelly owns a promotional marketing company, GoodFellas Logos.  Kathryn is a freshman at Paschal and Emily is a 7th grader at McLean.

Teaching kindergarten is very rewarding.  My favorite thing about it is the fact that this is the beginning.  A launching pad for greater things to come.  I know that leaving a child to begin their first year in a great big new place is difficult and being sensitive to the parents and the student are so important.  Watching the child develop is the best reward a teacher can ask for and so much of that happens in kindergarten.
