Experience: Fort Worth ISD - 32 years as a classroom teacher
(10 years at Lily B.), Title I teacher, Reading Recovery teacher
Education: B.S. in Education from Texas State University in San Marcos
Bio: I have had the joy of teaching First Grade for 10 years at Lily B. Before coming to Lily B., I received my certification in Reading Recovery. This training in teaching reading has allowed me to see our children develop the necessary reading skills to be successful in life. This is a very rewarding part of working with First Graders. They are also beginning to appreciate the exciting world of literature.
One of my favorite authors is Patricia Polacco. She is an artist and an inspirational award winning writer of children's books.
