Learning

During this six weeks we will be learning about:

MATH: In math we are working on a measurement unit. Your students have learned how to measure the perimeter and area of objects and are now learning how to measure the volume and weight of objects.  

A big thank you to all of the parents that helped with our Multiplication Ice Cream party! It was a huge success! The kids really enjoyed it and I think that it served as wonderful motivation for them as they were learning their multiplication facts.  

SOCIAL STUDIES: In social studies we are looking into how communities and life has changed throughout history. 

SCIENCE: In science we are studying a unit on Force and Motion.

Welcome to Mrs. Risse's class website!

I am so happy to have each of your students in my class! We have been having a wonderful year so far and I am so excited for what is still yet to come!

This is my 24th year of teaching.  I graduated from Texas A&M in 1975 with a degree in Education Curriculum and Instruction.  I also  have a certificate to teach Kindergarten as well as E.S.L.

I have lived in the Wedgwood Area for 31 years.  I have three daughters, aged 28, 25, and 21.  They were all students at Westcreek Elementary School.

*  Because of a snow day, we WILL be in school on Friday, April 2 ... See you there! :)
